The Maybury

The Maybury

NEW YORK

Perched within The Maybury, a 46-story architectural statement by Handel Architects in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards, this two-bedroom model residence was conceived as a “Refined Retreat” — a space that merges the vitality of New York’s west side with the calm, cultivated ease of an international point of view.

A REFINED RETREAT IN HUDSON YARDS

Our design approach was grounded in the idea of modern elegance — not the flashy kind, but something quieter, more deliberate. Every detail was chosen to evoke a sense of warmth and sophistication without pretense. The result is a space that feels as though it’s evolved over time — layered, personal, lived-in — yet thoroughly modern in its structure and intention.

GENTLE CONTRASTS IN TEXTURE & TONE

We began with a tonal palette rooted in soft neutrals and framed by warm wood finishes, which form the connective tissue of the home. Light upholstery and sheer drapery invite the light in, softening the verticality of the building’s architecture and lending a sense of airiness and calm. Gentle contrasts in texture and tone — stone against linen, brushed metal against velvet — create a dialogue of tactility and depth, reinforcing a sense of grounded elegance.

INSTINCTIVE & CONSIDERED MOMENTS

Rather than fill the apartment with objects, we sought restraint. Every furnishing, accessory, and art piece was selected with a sense of purpose — a tightly curated edit of vintage finds, design classics, and sculptural contemporary pieces that lend soul and narrative to the space.

A HOME FOR DAILY LIVING

The Maybury’s target resident is both design-savvy and lifestyle-driven: a professional or couple in their 30s or 40s, likely balancing time between work and home, seeking a refuge that reflects their aesthetic standards as much as their daily rhythms. Our interiors were designed to meet that need — with layouts that feel natural, furniture that invites use, and details that evoke thoughtfulness rather than extravagance. This is a home meant to be experienced, not just admired.

BALANCE & BIOPHILIA

Throughout, we emphasized a sensory richness: scented candles and curated diffusers add atmosphere; soft textiles and sculptural lighting create intimacy; strategically placed greenery brings a sense of balance and biophilia. Every element contributes to an environment that feels deeply livable — luxurious, yes, but never aloof.

THE CROSSROADS OF ARCHITECTURE & EMOTION

Ultimately, the space is a meditation on beauty, comfort, and character — a timeless interpretation of modern living at the crossroads of architecture and emotion. In a city known for its energy, this residence offers something rarer: a sense of stillness, of ease, of home.
