A DESIGN-FORWARD LANDSCAPE

frenchCALIFORNIA, the globally-minded interior design and creative studio founded by Paris-born designer Guillaume Coutheillas, was invited to design a series of one-, two, and three-bedroom model residences within Pullman. This marks the firm’s second major project in Nashville, further establishing its influence in the city’s design-forward real estate landscape.

THE DESIGN VISION

frenchCALIFORNIA approached each residence with a vision of urban sophistication grounded in local authenticity. The interiors balance rich materiality—warm wood tones, tactile fabrics, and custom finishes—with curated restraint. Every detail was considered to feel layered but livable, elegant yet approachable.

Custom contemporary art from Tappan Collective, along with bespoke pieces inspired by Nashville’s cultural heritage, infuse each space with a strong sense of place. Exclusive paint palettes were developed specifically for Pullman—ranging from a signature soft off-white to hand-applied limewash finishes—bringing subtle texture and light into the spaces.

“Our vision for these residences was to blend Nashville’s vibrant, community-driven energy with a refined, modern sensibility,” says Coutheillas. “By incorporating locally sourced art, sustainable materials, and inviting textures, we’ve created homes that reflect the city’s creative spirit while offering a truly elevated living experience.”

DESIGN MEETS EXPERIENCE

In a signature frenchCALIFORNIA touch, sensory experience was embedded into the staging. Pullman Reverie, a custom playlist curated for the property, plays gently through Apple HomePod Minis as visitors enter, adding an auditory layer of ambiance. This integration of sound, light, and form reflects the studio’s philosophy of design as a multi-sensory encounter.

Through a refined yet warm aesthetic, frenchCALIFORNIA has crafted interiors that do more than show well—they feel like home. At Pullman, the result is a collection of residences that speak to a discerning, design-conscious buyer who seeks both comfort and culture in equal measure.
